(01.02.1995 .. 31.12.1999):

• As System-Engineer for the development of the notebooks Scenic Mobile 500, 700 (joined Engineering with OEM partner) und 800 (german development).
• As technial Projekt leader for the notebooks Scenic Mobile 500 und 700 as well as Scenic Mobile 800AGP, 800S, Mobile Celsius and Mobile Celsius S.

 Job Contents:

• Development of Concepts for devices including sketch construction with 3D-CAD
• Specifications for Systems at Chip level and developing time schedules for the development till market introduction of notebooks
• Controlling and organisation of the development and attune the time schedules with marketing, deliverants, sub-departments for development, maufacturing and other departments and subcontractors
• Controlling of the development (Review mechanics, electronics, software), fulfillment of the spezification and market requirements
• Provision of marketable products related to functionality, quality, logistics and cost
• Coordination of parallel developments like a Docking Station, battery charger, ac-adaptor and other Notebooks
• Moderation of and assistance in detailed development
• Assistance and coordination of the qualification of devices like debugging (mechanical-tests, EMI, ESD, thermal analyses and design e.g. for CE, UL, FCC, Semco, Nemco, Demco ...)
• Leading of meetings and teams, i.e. of the Manufacturing start team.
• Assistance for sales and service
• Product documentation concept and creation, also bills of material, parts numbers etc..
• Representation of the mobile division towards supplyers and customers inland and abroad, also at exhibits (Cebit).
• Watch the market and technology of notebook personal computers and all related devices and parts

 OEM-Specific Work Contents:

• Coordination of notebook concepts with OEM-partners e.g. in Taiwan, marketing and sales
• Negotiatins with OEM-partners together wih purchasing and planning departments

 "In-House" Developments:

• Coordination of device concept and development with marketing, planning, construction, board development and manufacting
• Market analyses for Components like IC’s, boards, mechanics, ac-adaptors etc., selection of suppliers
• Development and Evaluation of Teilkomponenten like Cables, Speakers, Microphones and Fans
• Attend of quotations together with purchasing, supply condition agreements with several suppliers
• Coordination of several development tasks (like mechanics, connectors, motherboard, subboards, software) and all necessary departments (quality-engineering, dokumentation, ...)

 Others:

•  4 Patents: 3D-displays and –projectors (and some more patent applications).
• Trained and certificated as „Six Sigma Blackbelt“ (methods and tools (of the "Six Sigma" strategy, developed by General Electrics and Motorola) to improve quality and earnings)
• Performing of a Blackbelt Project, where the cost of the following notebook generation of the Scenic Mobile 800 has been reduced by a thwo-digit million euro amount

 

Job Content At MAN Technologie AG, Satellitennavigation

• Projekt leader for:

o         a public agency project (European Space Agency),

o         an industrial project in the car navigation area and

o         a GPS navigations receiver-development for the commercial market

• Market, competitor and technical analyses in the area of satellite navigation receivers and all related components
• Development and optimisation of device concepts
• Responsible for the market- and price placement of the devices, definition of all parameters: number of units, needed certifications and labels, user interface, software und hardware from concept to functionality- and chip level.
